I have inherited a portion of a trust, how long before it pays out?

My Grampa died and left me and my cousins a portion of his trust. It is property and stocks and other financial investments. He died two years ago and I just found out a year ago by mail just that the taxes were paid on the property and that we were named as heirs of the trust. How long before it should be distributed? We are all in our 40's so it isn't an age issue.
