Help with brainstorming for a short essay concerning South Africa?

Hi there, I was just wondering if any of you had any ideas to contribute to my essay about South Africa. I'm looking more for current even related material and interesting facts. I already have the U.S. Department of States' South Africa page up, and that is proving to be pretty neat. I know that the FIFA World Cup 2010 is going to be in South Africa this year. I'm just interested in what you all have to say, brainstorming and ideas about what to include in my essay. What would you like to read about, concerning South Africa?
