Why he thinking something more ?

this guy at work wanted to kow why i am so dark and my parents are light and i told him that my grandma was native american but my grandpa was white and he said "oh so your family got around alot" with a grin on his face, do you think he was thinking of something ually ? he has said i have a nice tan before ..explain
