What's the best way to prevent a scar?

I have a laceration that is approximately 6 inches long and required 10 staples. I am currently using hydrogen peroxide to keep it as clean as possible and Neosporin in conjunction with an antibiotic for infection control. Is there anything else that I can do to help prevent a large scar from forming?
