What rights do photographers have?
I am the consumer- not the photographer. I recently had a friend take pictures of my daughter. She didn't charge a sitting fee because she is supposed to be building her portfolio. I ordered pictures from her because I was trying to be helpful even though I thought they were unreasonably overpriced. I also paid $100 extra for "the rights". Instead of a disc of the pictures that I thought I was getting, she gave me a dvd of a slide show (which I could have done myself) and is working on a link with her watermarks on the pictures. Doesn't that mean she is not selling me the rights to these pictures? Also- these pictures were taken over a month ago. I feel like I'm being ripped off. Please let me know what you would do or think- photographers and consumers alike. Thanks!
