Ovulation is stimulated by the sharp increase of which of the following hormones?

Answer is C. Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) only causes a follicle to mature but it does NOT cause the follicle to rupture and release the egg. ONLY luteinizing hormone (LH) causes the follicle to rupture and therefore release the egg, also called ovulation.
