Is this a good introduction yay or nay?

“ I knew it, I knew it who was I kidding” Richard thought to himself while sitting on a curb . “ I was putting a nice streak together, I was gonna make it, I was” as Richard continued to ponder. Richard had been sitting on that spot for a good 45 minutes but where did he have to go? He had just lost his job like thousands before him. Richard had his head in his hands just thinking. His head was getting tight, he had a sickening feeling in his stomach. He was scared, worried, trying to think out a plan. He kept thinking to himself about how smart he had been with his money but supporting 5 kids and a wife makes it hard to save up. As Richard continued to yze his situation he heard someone call his name “ Amonte, move!” Richard promptly looked up and saw a Buick Toring Car Model D coming his way. Richard knew who it was as he rolled out of the way and then walk over to the penger side window. “Richard how are you, I havent seen you since what april-may what was?” said a well trimed man in a suit. “eric yes it has been since I belive april.” Richard replied trying to keep his greif a secret. “yes sir it has been a while, what have you been up to?” eric asked. “oh this and that.” Richard answered. “how are the kids, work, everything?” eric then asked. “oh work its ahh going good you know 2 weeks since the 24th and I am still going strong” Richard lied “and the kids now that the schools are down are helping there mother around, we have to keep them active” Richard then added. “ what about you eric?” “ well Richard ive been out a job since june, I guess I wont be getting one know” eric joked and then added “ I am financially good though, pops died and you know I was his only relative so I made out like a bandit.” “huh well that’s good” Richard replied.
